Strong foundation
Good course to give you the basic principles, knowledge and understanding of managing safely within the wind industry.
Tom Wishart –
Experienced and knowledgeable instructors
The IOSH Managing Safely for Wind Power course is well pitched for all levels of Health & Safety experience to give an overview of the subject. The course instructor had experience of the sector and are helpful and knowledgeable on the subject.
Darren Stannard –
Appropriate for Wind Farm Technicians through to Wind Farm Management
A really good course appropriate for Wind Farm Technicians through to wind Farm Management. The course tutor was very knowledgeable with much benefit gained from attending.
Grant Hampshire –
Good starting point for the asset portfolio
Good course, I did this course when starting Site supervisor for the windfarms on the west coast of UK. It was good starting point for the portfolio.
The ARMSA Team (store manager) –
Another 5 stars! Thank you Grant. Did you do the course with us back in 2015?
Darren Richardson –
Pitched at the right level
This is an excellent course, Pitched at the right level, gives you all the basics for managing safely in the wind industry. Extremely well presented as well.
The ARMSA Team (store manager) –
Thank you Darren. Have you kept the workbook? Some of our delegates are still using the first edition published in 2010 as a reference.
Orla Gilligan –
Suitable to all levels of experience
Excellent course which is suitable to all levels of experience. Course material provides a really good overview for managing health & safety on a wind farm. Course instructors were great also, very helpful and engaging.
The ARMSA Team (store manager) –
Orla, 5 stars! Thank you. We will pass your kind feedback to our wonderful instructors.
John Everest –
Would recommend to anyone who is leading teams/planning work etc
Can’t comment on the virtual delivery of this course as this review is retrospective to training completed in a classroom.
Course were well communicated by a good trainer, material and handouts were excellent and it were genuinely enjoyable considering the topic can sometimes be a little dry. Would recommend to anyone who is leading teams/planning work etc.
The ARMSA Team (store manager) –
Thank you for your kind comments, John. You are quite right. Several delegates have sat the face to face program which is a different experience to virtual classrooms. Thankfully, today’s technology allows us to engage with delegates in a host of different ways such as collective group activity, discussions and even video assignments. On that topic, one of our recent delegates engaged her Project Director on an assignment resulting in immediate improvements to the site management organisation.
Kenny Robertson, Deputy Project Manager, Vestas –
Designed for our line of work
This is truly a great course and gives some great insight into a vast number of topics. This course brings a good honest approach to the way we work and in turn, creates great group discussions on many topics. This course is also designed for our line of work which is really great as we can relate so much more to the topics.
Joe Shea, Shift Manager, Vestas –
New perspectives and skills
The course was very insightful, it gave me a different perspective on my roles and responsibilities. I learned some new skills relevant to my job role, I look forward to utilising these skills when the opportunity arises. Trainers presented the course very well. There were some excellent group discussions. The group tasks where enjoyable also. It is not easy to present or participate in an online course containing this amount of information, but ARMSA structured it well.
Simon Brejnholt, Technical Project Manager, Vestas –
Well structured and engaging course
A big shout out to our 2 skilled instructors. Very knowledgeable and have a really pleasant way to teach, help, understand, and discuss. Thank you for a well structured and interesting course.
Mia Rud Bohnsen, Project Manager, Vestas –
Tailored very specifically to our needs
I thought the course was extremely relevant and due to the fact that we were all from the same department in the same company it was tailored very specifically to our needs, which made everything really interesting and easily transferable into our daily roles.
Louise O’Boyle, Project Manager, Bluewise Marine –
Excellent online platform
Excellent online platform, very well organised and coordinated, instructors have good understanding of the sector and provide excellent first hand examples
Enda Gallagher, Regional Supervisor, Ørsted –
Packed with practical activities
Excellent and the way it is set up so you can easily participate in activities is excellent. The ease of using the portal is very good.
The only downfall is the lack of interaction which you would get in a classroom environment but this is not a fault of this course but one in general as people don’t interact as much in a large group online. Thanks very much to Khalida and Rakesh.
Khalida Suleymanova (store manager) –
Thank you, Enda. So good to hear this. We completely agree with you, it is difficult to compete with the classroom environment. Having said that, hopefully, the breakout rooms gave the opportunity to interact with other participants and the two to three hour slots still opened up the opportunity to get some work done during the day too!
Padmini Maheshwari, Project Planner, Ventient Energy –
Consistency is key – it helps apply the content to work
Be consistent with the course- take time to revise and make notes after each module. This makes it really easy to make use of the course when applying it to actual work.
It’s a good course, well-paced and instructors are pretty open to all sorts of questions- so enjoy!
Shirish, Product Manager, Power Factors Corp –
It will definitely be useful in my career growth
It’s a very important and fun course to learn ins and outs of HSE. I come from a software background but still, I enjoyed this course and I feel to have attained learning points relevant to managing health and safety. It will definitely be useful in my career.
Eoin Fallon, Project Manager, Ørsted –
Enjoyable and informative with great examples
The course was enjoyable and informative with great examples taken from the wind industry to give context to my day-to-day activities.
Barry Marshall, Project Engineer, Ørsted –
Content relevant to understanding risks
Good content relevant to understanding risks in the sector and managing safely.
Jon Priddy, Asset Manager, Ventient Energy –
Excellent explanation into an often overly complicated subject
Whether you’re an experienced Wind farm Manager or just starting out, if you don’t hold a formal qualification in Health and Safety this is an excellent way into an often overly complicated subject. The course tutors are experienced in the sector which makes a big difference and are helpful, flexible and always available.
The ARMSA Team (store manager) –
John, we are so pleased that you found our program engaging. 5 stars makes us blush too.
Allie Byrne, Health, Safety and Security Professional, Statkraft –
Staggered delivery gives you time to digest the content
An excellent course and great that it is staggered over a few weeks as it gives you time to digest and fully process the content. Khalida is a fantastic instructor with a wealth of knowledge. Would highly recommend for anyone in the Wind Industry.
Brigette Palleske, Technical Project Manager, Vestas –
Increase efficiency, productivity and ultimately the bottom line
The course provides insights into how the right approach to safety can help your company increase efficiency, productivity and ultimately its bottom line by prioritizing proper planning from start to finish.
It really highlights how taking the time to properly understand projects and tasks from the outset can help create a safer work environment for everyone.
Iain Davidson, Director at Equitix Management Services –
A rich and compelling experience
A rich and compelling re-education in how the our approach to directing, managing and delivering wind projects can and must result in a safer environment for everyone. The combination of highly experienced instructors and detailed materials was hugely relevant to our industry and very well worth the investment.
