Our approach

Traditional attitudes towards safety don’t apply at ARMSA. Our research shows that some of the most critical safety decisions are made at the front-end of project development. This next-generation programme explains how these decisions impact your asset performance and occupational safety. The diagram below shows the proactive and reactive elements of management decision-making covered in the course.

Front-end decision-making components of the programme include:

  • Organisational culture
  • Commercial and contract frameworks
  • Organisational precursors
  • Work planning decisions

Late-stage decision-making components of the program include:

  • Hazard identification
  • Incident management
  • Major accident investigation

Consistency is key - it helps apply the content to work

Be consistent with the course- take time to revise and make notes after each module. This makes it really easy to make use of the course when applying it to actual work.

It's a good course, well-paced and instructors are pretty open to all sorts of questions- so enjoy!

Packed with practical activities

Excellent and the way it is set up so you can easily participate in activities is excellent. The ease of using the portal is very good.

The only downfall is the lack of interaction which you would get in a classroom environment but this is not a fault of this course but one in general as people don't interact as much in a large group online. Thanks very much to Khalida and Rakesh.

Course were well communicated by a good trainer, material and handouts were excellent and it were genuinely enjoyable considering the topic can sometimes be a little dry. Would recommend to anyone who is leading teams/planning work etc.

Thank you for your kind comments, John. You are quite right. Several delegates have sat the face to face program which is a different experience to virtual classrooms. Thankfully, today’s technology allows us to engage with delegates in a host of different ways such as collective group activity, discussions and even video assignments. On that topic, one of our recent delegates engaged her Project Director on an assignment resulting in immediate improvements to the site management organisation.
